Checking the weather or your business?

Are you paying more attention to the weather or your business?

During normal times we would check the weather report for the upcoming week ahead to determine many of our business trips and social events.

And maybe check in on sneaking out to go skiing or snowmobiling instead of check in on our business as much as maybe needed.

With the new year checking your business was kinda like a weather man sticking his head out the window to let us know what we already know. Its a new year and new start.

Now during these times and the fact we just started another year with a pandemic,

we might be checking in on our businesses a bit more than the weather to try and figure out how to guide ourselves through these times.

So rather than checking the weather, check out a distributor with ideas and connections that are more reliable than the weather or those awesome weatherman that never seems to ever be right.

We would love for you to become one of our customers and these are some of the solutions we bring to our current customers and we can do the same for you.

If this is something you are interested in please email or text us the word “weatherman” and we will be in contact shortly with ideas that lead to solutions.

Please remember, If you want to see the sunshine, you have to weather the storm.

Are you ready for the hard work and dedication for the new year?

Are you ready for the hard work and dedication for the new year?

As we start the new work week of a New Year, we all have excitement and Curiosity of what the new year will bring.

Most of us still know that even though the year number changes, the new year will still come down to hard work, preparation and dedication to be successful.

Most start the year with new goals and resolutions but those don't even last through the end of the month because we don't stay fully dedicated.

With the start of this new year are you ready for the hard work, preparation and most importantly dedication needed to be successful this year.

So as we start this new year let me ask you a few questions:

  1. How has your vision changed for your business moving forward?
  2. What makes you think this year will be as good or better than last year?
  3. What one think has to go right to set up success for this year?

We all have these questions as the new year starts in you are a business owner or manager.

We always think in terms of how to what can make our customers and how our customers successful through our partnership.

That is what happens when you look out for your customers first. And with hard work, preparation and dedication to the customers make us both successful.

And if this sounds like a formula you would like to be part of, We would love to have you as one of our customers, please text or email us the word “new year” and we will help show you how this is possible.

Last year I told you to keep washing your hands which is still important but this year let me close with a quote from Napoleon Hill “Only the highway of useful service leads to the city of happiness.”

Cheers

2020 Year in Review- our #1 viewed video of the year- Reshoring Good Paying MFG Jobs- Interview Harry Moser

It was great to interview Harry back in May of this year to discuss "Reshoring" which there is now a brighter light shinning on this topic.

Reshoring is gaining momentum throughout the country. Many companies have already repatriated some of their manufacturing efforts, and the Reshoring Initiative is continuing to spread the “return-manufacturing-home” message to help other manufacturers realize America is an advantageous place to produce goods.

The United States used to be the world’s industrial powerhouse!

Why Reshore?

There are many reasons for American manufacturers to reevaluate offshoring and consider reshoring. Companies are increasingly recognizing that costs, risks and strategic impacts previously ignored are large enough to overcome the shrinking emerging market wage advantages. They are seeing the benefits of proximity, i.e. producing in the market, especially when the home market is the U.S., still the world’s largest.

Manufacturing is Celebrated this Month

Good morning hope all is well as Wisconsin is again locking down with Bars and Restaurants being restricted to 25% capacity. But manufacturing businesses still need to keep moving forward and they are trying to do that.

Manufacturing is the number one contributor to Wisconsin’s economy, producing $63 billion in total output each year – 19 percent of Wisconsin’s total Gross Domestic Product (GDP). Additionally, the state’s more than 9,000 manufacturers employ nearly 500,000 people.

Manufacturers are the lifeblood of our local and state economies and that is why we all are so excited to celebrate October as Manufacturing Month in Wisconsin.

Today, we celebrate all those who make manufacturing their line of work.

Manufacturing and the people who work within this industry as so important to our state.

So, during the Month of October we hope all young people especially those unsure of which career path to follow will find out more about manufacturing during this month.

Kurt Bauer President of the Wisconsin Manufacturing and Commerce group recently stated Our state’s rich manufacturing heritage is well-known throughout the world, but it is the industry’s future that is now sparking international attention, Thirty years ago, the industry was viewed as dumb, dirty and dangerous. Today, it is high-tech, high-skill and high-pay.

And I agree 100%.

All of us at Premier fully support Manufacturing in Wisconsin and hope all young people take a serious look at the manufacturing industry as we believe this is a strong, high skilled and high paying line of work.

IF you would like to learn more about how we can help young people get into Mfg. please email or text us the word “Manufacturing”

We thank all of you that make manufacturing your life and want you to know that we appreciate all your efforts.

Have a great day and let us continue to keep making manufacturing great in Wisconsin.

History of a Great Manufacture & State - Marvel - Wisconsin

Manufacturing in Wisconsin really started to take off in the 1840, That is 180 years of strong manufacturing tradition.

I know there are some pretty old people out there today but I’m pretty sure there aren’t any 180- year olds around to tell us the stories of what it was like back then.

Fortunately for us, we have mother google and history books to look back on to learn more about some of these great manufacturers.

On today’s Premier Post Minute, I’m wanted to speak about Marvel Company

Back in the early 1900’s the Armstrong and Blum families owned independent manufacturing shops in Chicago. The two families became close friends that belonged to the same parish and shared a mutual interest in manufacturing which led to them merge their two companies. By 1906 they built their first power driven hack saw when they realized that they could build a far superior product. as the saying goes “The rest is history”

Today, Marvel Saws operates out of a large facility in Oshkosh, WI and employees 100 people. Yes, in Oshkosh Wisconsin right in the middle of this great state. They have been there for over 50 years. Marvel offers highest quality metal cutting and band saws. Marvel is leading the industry in saw cutting technology to help increase customers throughput and efficiency.

We would love to have you as one of our customers, to learn more this amazing company call or text us the word “Marvel” to 414-254-5150.

Let’s keep manufacturing going strong in Wisconsin!

As always, stay safe, and keep washing those hands!

Breeding Success with Consistent Great Service

Have you ever noticed how when you are buying a machine tool, all the dealers that you invite in to quote, they tell you how great they service their machines?

But when you do a little more research you find out their service is all talk and not consistent.

Salesmen will always keep selling even if they know they have bad service and it is a shame. This forces the customers to do more research to find out they are just been given a line of bull.

On today’s premier post minute, we wanted to discuss how quality products with consistent great service will breed your success.

Think about when you go to chick-fill-a, they consistently say your welcome or how can I help you and thank you. You go to other fast-food places and they treat you like you are a burden to them. Who is training these people?

Service rules but people only focus on this when trying to get the sale rather than consistently providing quality service throughout the experience.

Our customers are successful because we make sure to provide them the quality service, we all hope and wish for consistently.

We would love to have you as one of our customers, please text or email me the word “consistency” and we look forward to providing you a list of our consistently happy customers. This will help make your decision much easier on who do business with.

When two Histories meet, success to follow

In early 1945 WWII was coming to an end and manufacturing in Wisconsin was booming. Allis Chalmers in West Allis Wisconsin was pumping out parts for naval ships, agricultural equipment, construction equipment, generators, and power transmissions for factories. Manufacturing in Wisconsin was hitting a critical point in its development for the next 60 years.

On Today's episode of the Premier Post Minute, we want to talk about a little business that started back in 1945…. Hwacheon Machine Tool.

Hwacheon has always been regarded as a high-end machine tool builder due to their strong history of providing excellent machine tools, ever since the first lathe was produced in 1945. There are hundreds of Hwacheon machines here in Wisconsin, and some of the oldest running machines I have seen in shops are Hwacheon’s because they just - keep - running!   Hwacheon’s success is due to their vertically integrated business plan that allows for internal error correction and continuous improvements of their machine tools. Owning their own foundry and automotive production facilities helped them become Master of Quality control as well.

Tex or email us the words "History" and we will provide a winning solution

How to gain Positive Outcomes

Did you ever notice how we live in a world of negative connotations? I wish more were in the positive form rather than the negative.

Here are some examples, dimmer switch? Why not a brightener switch? Or a stop sign? How about a Go Light? What about when someone calls a person a nerd? Why not just call them intelligent?

On today’s premier post minute we wanted to discuss how at Premier we work hard to place everything in a positive outcome.

When we speak with our customers, we discuss what the outcomes they want to achieve. These are always positive. Customers want to move forward and get better and the best way to do so is knowing what their desired outcome is.

If you know the outcome you can then work to figure out what the best solution is to make them more productive and ultimately more profitable. This way you can achieve your outcome.

If you want to look at your business in a positive connotation, then we would love for you to see how Premier works for the positive outcome.

We look forward to you becoming one of our customers, please text or email me the word “Positive” and we will help you achieve the outcome you desire.

As we have many negative connotations in our world Here is a positive quote from the baseball player Wade Boggs to remember: a positive attitude causes a chain reaction of positive thoughts, events and outcomes. It is a catalyst and it sparks extraordinary results.

We hope you have a great day and look for more positive outcomes.

No Show but still Need New Products?

No Show But Still Need New Products:

Every other year all of us in the manufacturing would attend IMTS in Chicago.

This year due to the pandemic the show was canceled.

So normally all week, we would be running around from booth to booth meeting customers at each of our manufactures we represent.

But this year, No Show, so now what? How do you find the right manufacture to work with?

On today’s premier post minute, we wanted to introduce you to one of our great vendors, Hwacheon who has many products to make you more productive and profitable.

Hwacheon has been in business for over 60 years. Whether it is a CNC lathe, CNC Mill or a die/mold machine from foundry to final assembly this is what sets them apart. So many competitors now are just assemblers of machines tools as they buy parts from whoever is cheapest, and they do not worry about what country it comes from. WRONG ANSWER!

Hwacheon believes in FULL vertical integration to provide value to their customers. From their foundry pouring all their own castings for machine bases to component machining and machine assembly. Vertical integration means total control of the machine tool quality to the very last detail. Keeping all in house....this results in long lasting, high performing machines tools with low cost of ownership.

Thank you for your time today and even though we have no IMTS this year, we can still show you more about Hwacheon either at their North American facility or at one of our many excited Hwacheon customers.

You can start by emailing or texting me the letters “IMTS” and I will share more information with you.

We look forward to you becoming one of our customers

Today is a great day, please enjoy it and continue to stay safe and healthy

Wrestling with Success

For the last week now, kids have been getting back to school but is it now business back to normal?

As school starts again this fall, it has a different feel to it.

At first, I was a little sad that summer was ending, and the kids were going back to school.

But then I realized that they have been out of face to face learning for six months.

Wow, I was a bit surprised at that but when you think about it, they have been home since March.

Young people are going to college, some for the first time but it will not be normal for a while yet.

Almost all classes are going to be virtual as this will be a new experience for them.

Some colleges are now on lock down due to outbreaks.

K through 12 will mostly be going to face to face learning with virtual options.

So, do we all notice how our businesses are different this fall, or will it just go back to normal?

will it ever go back to normal or will it be jumping forward in the new business climate?

On today’s premier post minute we wanted to discuss how to move on with our business this fall?

Business might never return to normal as nobody knows for sure.

So how do we move or jump forward as many of us cannot do business like we use too?

But even without a vaccine, the economy is growing and looking promising. So many of our customers are extremely busy as backlogs are growing.

We all need to find ways to grow our businesses especially with the improvement in the current business climate continues.

To learn more about how Premier Machine Tool can help get your business well-oiled again!

Text or email us the words “well oiled” and we will start showing you solutions that are working for our customers.

And if you are already are one of our great customers you know we are still here working to help whenever you need us.

With the weather changing outside, it is important to keep your head clear and positive. Remember business is either good or bad between your ears!

Make today a great day!

Enjoy and keep washing those hands.
