More popular: Dillinger or Grob machines?

Many people have several questions about the awesome Grob 5 axis machines:

Questions like: What do you mean the spindle is horizontal? How can you machine with the table upside down?

And many more but one of the most popular questions is Where is the machine made?

In today’s premier post minute - we want to cover that question of where they build the best 5 axis machines from Grob?

Since being founded in the 1980s, GROB Systems Inc. in the USA has played a key role in the GROB production network. Some 560 employees and a production area of 38,000 square foot makes our USA plant the ideal point of contact for the automotive industry in North America, Mexico and Canada. In addition to universal machining centers, it produces primarily system machines, assembly lines and equipment in accordance with German quality standards.

As in other plants, many second-generation employees work in Bluffton and contribute, thanks to a training system that lives up to German standards, to the overall success of the GROB Group.

The continuous further development of in-house products and an expanded range of services guarantee our American GROB plant sustained growth and the best prospects for the future.

The G350 5-axis universal machining center build in Ohio, offers all customers in the machining sector almost limitless possibilities for milling parts made of the most diverse materials.

Our universal machining center is designed to meet the multiple requirements of various sectors and offers a convincing range of applications.

We look forward to you becoming one of our customers. Please start by emailing or texting me the word “Dillinger” and we will get more exciting information on Grob machines.

Let us Learn Productivity Together

How much could your production increase by having 8 more spindles on your shop floor?

Now image adding those 8 spindles and only taking up the floor space of one single machine?

Now do I have your attention?

On today’s episode of the Premier Post Minute, we discuss the high production multi spindle machines from Index Traub.

Multi Spindles can seem intimidating at first, and as someone who is new to this style machine, I was initially nervous to even talk about a multi spindle with a customer.

INDEX multi-spindle automatics combine the advantages of CNC technology with those of cam-controlled machines. They can be used not only for series production of a wide range of precision parts but also for small series due to their extremely short setup time. Whatever the application, these multi spindle automatics impress by their low costs for the user.

Still uneasy about considering a multi-spindle from Index? Don’t be, because Index offers in depth, hands on training to make sure that your shop is getting the most out of your investment. If your production parts can fit into your hand, then a multi-spindle from Index is the right machine for you.

With floor space costing a premium today, it makes sense to get the most out of every square foot. Plus, just one operator can run all eight spindles!

Why not start by learning more about how a multi-spindle can positively impact your business by texting me the word “Multi”.

We look forward to you becoming one of our customers and show you how Index can be a true profit partner!

Persistently shifting to a Winner!

Failing to recognize the persistent wind shift, is like not noticing the new trends in machinery

In sailboat racing if you can notice a shift in the wind before your competition, you can gain a huge advantage against them. The good sailors know how to spot this consistently and win.

The same can be said in the machinery industry when forward thinking shops continue to notice new trends that can help them win today before their competition.

in today’s premier post minute - I want to talk about the latest trend of winning with Hwacheon Machinery.

For more than 65 years, Hwacheon Machinery has been a world leading developer of high-quality, highly productive, durable machining solutions for precision milling and turning applications. Mechanical craftsmanship, technical leadership, the toughest machine tool quality standards, a global presence, and excellence in service ensure our customers a consistent advantage in productivity. Hwacheon Machinery will work every day to earn customer confidence.

When a manufacture like Hwacheon can offer you those same machines that they run yearly millions of tier one automotive parts for the automotive industry. Nobody else can offer you that kind of proven track record along with the value you receive.

Hwacheon also manufactures all their machines from foundry to final assembly. Which again our competition cannot claim.

These are just two of many advantages that Hwacheon offers that are a winning trend.

Please understand as my friend Jeffrey Gitomer says, you do not add value, you don’t create value, you give value first!

So, when you find yourself asking: What do you offer that no one else has? What do you offer of value? How does your product compare to others I have seen?

The answers are easy as WOW - Hwacheon offer more value for me to win.

We look forward to you becoming one of our customers and persistent shifting to trends that we offer to make you more productive and profitable.

Let us start with calling or texting me the word “trendsetter” and we will start with a free evaluation of which solution might be best solution for you.

Today is a great day, please enjoy it and continue to stay safe and healthy

And Wash your hands

Flattening the curve and Flattening your steel?

Flattening the curve and Flattening your steel?

People today are understandingly more worried about flattening the curve with this corona virus but in the stamping and fab industry, they are still worried about flattening their steel parts!

What do your customers think about your product quality of your stamped and lasered parts? Are they flat?

In today’s premier post minute - I am excited to introduce you to ARKU who doesn’t make steel, they make steel flat.

Parts leveling can't free you from the stress caused by a missed shipping date. However, it CAN relieve your production frustrations caused by metal parts and components loaded with internal stresses though. These are released during welding, laser cutting, punching or bending.

Exceeding yield point key to stress relief

The FlatMaster servo-hydraulic parts leveler is uniquely designed for this purpose. It uses a series of closely-spaced, small-diameter rollers. The material is bent sharply through a wave-like path to stretch the metal past its yield point. After the initial sharp bend, the material is gradually returned to a flat state as it passes through the leveling rollers and exits the machine. Small-diameter rollers on a small pitch produce a sharper bend, ensuring the material is stretched past its yield point.

Excellent results easily achieved

The effect on material is quite different from a gantry hammer press, press brake, roll former, flame and hammer or any other leveling method. The FlatMaster is also fast, often giving the desired result on the first pass. And it doesn't take an expert to achieve great results on the first pass.

It can take years for an operator to become an expert with a hammer press, and if that person leaves your company, it's a real handicap. Even in the hands of an expert, a hammer press can't stress-relieve your parts, though they might appear flat.

Parts leveling isn't strip leveling

Most importantly, the FlatMaster is versatile because it's "smart," able to adjust its force instantly to compensate for the varying cross section of parts with large cutouts and perforations, or shapes such as triangles and circles. The mechanical leveler on a coil line is not designed to do this. The hydraulic leveler is also ideal for appearance critical parts required for medical, packaging machinery, food, beverage and scientific applications. There is no marring, slag, or discoloration from heat.

ARKU- perfection for every part

Thank you for your time and please enjoy the rest of the Premier post. Or you can call or text me the word “flat” and I will share more information about doing a test run with your parts.

We look forward to you becoming one of our customers

Today is a great day, please enjoy it and continue to stay safe and healthy

Have you ever watched a F1 race?

F1 cars race around the track like a finely tuned orchestra.

Have you ever watched an F1 racing, if you have not you should and second how do they keep those high performing cars on the track?

How much do you think one “did not finish” cost each team?

in today’s premier post minute - we wanted to let you in behind the scenes of f1 racing and how hexagon metrology is helping keep Aston Martin Red Bull Racing on the track.

Hexagon measurement keeps productivity on track

Just like the cars on the circuit, manufacturing operations at Aston Martin Red Bull Racing need to be fast. The typical car consists of around 7 500 parts and can undergo up to 30 000 design changes in a single F1 season. Whether validating the vehicle as it travels around the world or continuously improving it at the factory, the quality teams rely on dependable, high accuracy measurement and responsive support from Hexagon engineers to be race-ready.

For Aston Martin Red Bull Racing, the factory at Milton Keynes “remains the beating heart of the team”. The campus of 8 buildings encompasses the full lifecycle of the Formula One car, from the technical office where the design engineers and aerodynamicists simulate and perfect every element of design for the car, through to extensive manufacturing facilities, R&D labs and assembly teams to get the car on track. The lifeblood flowing through these processes is quality. “The car is a constantly evolving machine that we are always trying to learn from and optimise,” says Mike Hughes, Head of Quality Assurance and Manufacturing Engineering. “You can only do that if you understand your baseline and where you’re starting from, which relies on the data and information that we gather from inspection. The foundation of every engineering decision is based on information.

Success or Failure.......with your machine tool provider

The difference between failure and success is doing a thing nearly right and doing it exactly right. This quote is credited to Edward C. Simmons

What frustrates you about your current provider of CNC machines tools?

In today’s premier post minute - we discuss Hwacheon Machinery and how you can be successful with them.

Doing things exactly right is what Hwacheon strives for in the building process of their machines. Whether it is a CNC lathe, CNC Mill or a die/mold machine from foundry to final assembly this is what sets them apart.

So many now are just assemblers of machines tools as they buy parts from whoever is cheapest and have no worry about what country it comes from. WRONG ANSWER!

Hwacheon believes in FULL vertical integration to provide value to their customers.

Here is how:

1 – Over 60 years of craftsmanship.

Hwacheon has been leading Korea’s production industry.

Korea is known to the world as an industrial powerhouse, and Hwacheon has been behind Korea’s prowess since the 50s, after Korea started to recover from the ruins of Korean war. In 1977, Hwacheon had built Korea’s first NC lathe, and internationally only behind three countries. After that Hwacheon came up with its own version of CNC milling machine and horizontal machining centers, contributing greatly to Korea’s economic success.

We will not rest to develop and innovate ourselves.

Hwacheon’s product development lab is forefront of Hwacheon’s passion. The lab has accumulated a half centuries of machine tool technology, and continues to enhance the technology behind CNC lathes, factory automation, molding, precision measurement and control.

4- Technologies.

Hwacheon spindles and CNC software are created with Hwacheon’s proprietary technologies.

The performance of a machine tool depends on the performance of the spindle, the scraping system, and the software. Hwacheon is self-sufficient over these key technologies, and therefore can provide the products and services custom-made to fit each client’s requirements.

5- Machining is our middle name.

Your productivity is our concern; and providing you with the optimal machining solution is our job.

Do you remember the first time you drove a sports car, and you were able to get out into an area where you could open her up?

Do you remember the first time you drove a sports car, and you were able to get out into an area where you could open her up? And you felt the pure acceleration for the first time  and it made you start to giggle!

What if you could get answers to your biggest questions about how that kind of acceleration can impact your production with your fiber laser?

In today’s premier post minute - we discuss the advantages of acceleration with the Eagle Laser.

Here is an except from The Fabricator magazine’s recent article on Eagle Fiber Laser-

What Is Meant By Quick?

Operating costs probably will go up as the power level on a fiber laser cutting machine goes up. Generally, doubling the power increases laser operating costs by 20 to 30 percent. That’s why it’s so important that the fiber laser is operating at peak efficiencies, so that part cycle time can be decreased to offset the higher operating costs. By decreasing cycle time, a fabricator can reduce the impact of variable and fixed costs and increase profitability.

Luckily, fiber lasers cut fast. Just watch them race up and down a piece of sheet metal at a tradeshow. Unfortunately, most fabricators aren’t cutting parts that feature long and straight lines. They are cutting small holes and unique geometric shapes. In this reality a fabricator needs fast acceleration to take advantage of the machine’s linear speeds.

For instance, a 1G machine that accelerates at 32.2 feet per second squared is easily outperformed by a 2G machine, which accelerates at twice the rate. When the Gs are doubled, the machine needs half the time and half the distance to reach the same programmed speed.

The rate the machine can decelerate into and accelerate out of corners and tight arcs often has a greater impact on cycle time than laser power or maximum machine speed. Acceleration is vital.

For further illustration, consider laser cutting 20-gauge aluminum with a 4-kW laser that can cut at a speed of around 2,250 inches per minute. If the fabricator is cutting a 3-in. line with a 1G machine, that 4-kW laser will never accelerate to the potential cut speed before it has to start decelerating. Meanwhile, a 6G machine will be at the cutting speed for 2.4 in. of the 3-in. line.

When discussing cutting efficiency, it also helps to look at the rapid traverse speed and the acceleration. This involves movement of the cutting head when the laser is not in use, which is about 15 to 25 percent of cutting head movement over each sheet or plate. Machines that deliver higher rapid traverse speeds, greater than 12,000 IPM, require high acceleration to utilize the high rapid traverse speeds.

We would love to have you as a profit partner. Why not start with calling or texting me the words “sports car” and we can start discussing how acceleration can help you.

What would it be worth to you to figure out EXACTLY when to use Vertical turning verses horizontal and implementing those strategies into your business?

What would it be worth to you to figure out EXACTLY when to use Vertical turning verses horizontal and implementing those strategies into your business?

How do you know when to use Vertical turning?

Most people struggle with when to use Vertical turning and what advantages it has?

We are excited to discuss this in today’s premier post minute along with introducing you to OM who has been producing vertical turning lathes since 1960.

For more than a century, vertical turning lathes (VTL) conjured up the idea of these big machines for big workpieces designed to handle chucked parts that are simply too heavy for a horizontal configuration.

The design of the inverted vertical machine creates an open work zone, which provides more possibilities for multitask machining. It also uses gravity for simple, effective chip evacuation.

With OM, we also include full box ways, 4 sided harden and ground ways, loading and unloading ease, Yes, the use of gravity for heavy pieces, but also less floor space, plus it can be automated.

O-M's large family of boring and turning machines are designed and manufacturing to satisfy turning needs.
