Hwacheon Machinery offers its Hi- TECH 350 range of slant-bed, box way horizontal turning centers with 8 or 10 chuck sizes and available Y-axis. It is designed for high precision multitasking production and reducing cutting times for workpieces. Maximum cutting diameter is 16.25 (420 mm) with 27.5 (700 mm) swing over the bed.
The high-torque HT350s are based on the design of the HT450 and are available in four models: HT350A YMC (8 chuck with live tooling and Y-axis), HT350A YSMC (8 chuck and 8 subspindle with live tooling and Y-axis), HT350B YMC (10 chuck with live tooling and Y-axis), HT350B YSMC (10 chuck and 8 sub spindle with live tooling and Y-axis)
A longer, 50 bed is available and the machines feature the BMT-65 size turret. The range offers spindles of 18.5 kW and 22 kW. Bar capacities are HT350A 2.56 and HT350B 3 while both type machines offer an 8 chuck in the sub-spindle with 2.01 bar capacity. A programmable tailstock body and quill contributes to the series complete part processing capability.
A drum-type tool turret is servo-indexed and hydraulically clamped, permitting heavy-duty cutting. The quick indexing speed and bi-directional tool selection are designed to minimize non-cutting time.
A rapid feedrate of 20 / 24 / 10 / 16 mm/min. In X-, Z-, Y- and B-axes permits quick tool positioning. A 12- station servo-type tool turret carries live tools and offers indexing time of 0. 2 sec. Or less, helping to reduce overall cycle time.
As with its other Hwacheon machines, the HT350 is built entirely by Hwacheon including the casting, spindle, chuck and turret and the full enclosure.
Hwacheon’s high-torque drive system is built for turning at low speed and also high speed turning. The transmission and the spindle motor are designed separately so that the heat and the vibration generated from the transmission do not affect the spindle motor
The precision-ground spindle is supported by a rigid headstock with grease-sealed, double-row cylindrical bearings, and angular-contact bearings at the front and double-row cylindrical bearings at the rear, to keep heat generation to a minimum. Spindle power is provided by a brushless, variablespeed AC motor.
Featuring hand-scraped and polished box guideways in all axes and rigid one-piece machine bed design, the machines are engineered to provide stability in hard turning applications. The bed material is Meehanite process cast iron.
The chip disposal and the environment friendly oil-water separation design contribute to production efficiency.
