Premier Machine Tool Midwest recently visited Grob in Bluffton Ohio. Due to its optimal location, the North American GROB plant in Bluffton/Ohio is not only the bridge to the North American market, but also an ideal point of contact for the “Big Three“of the American automotive industry Chrysler, Ford, and General Motors. Hence, GROB Systems Inc. plays an important role in the GROB production network and in the second largest automotive market of the world.
Machining centers, G-modules, special machining units and above all assembly lines and ancillary assembly equipment are produced, assembled and commissioned to operation in Bluffton.
About 430 employees currently work at the GROB factory in Bluffton. The production area of over 20,000 m² (215,000 square feet) has been extended to about 36,000 m² (387,000 square feet) recently. After the great financial crisis of 2008, the American automotive industry is again investing in machinery. Sales have boomed, thus creating excellent future prospects for the American GROB subsidiary.
The universal machining centers G350, G550 and G750 successfully complement the G-series and open up an even larger application range for the existing G-modules. As all models from the G-series, they originate from the same modular construction system, are characterized by their compact design and enable excellent visibility and best accessibility to the work areas.
