Multi-Process Turning Center Processes Complex Parts in One Chucking
Hwacheon Machinery America says that its C1 multi-process turning center is half turning center, half machining center with Y- and C-axis control, and can completely manufacture parts with complicated shapes in a single chucking operation.
Hwacheon Machinery America says that its C1 multi-process turning center is half turning center, half machining center with Y- and C-axis control, and can completely manufacture parts with complicated shapes in a single chucking operation.
The turning center offers a 28.74″-diameter swing over bed, 20.88″ maximum cutting diameter, 23.58″ maximum cutting length and 6,000-rpm maximum spindle speed. The arrangement of units in the heat-symmetrical structure is designed to provide thermal stability and minimize thermal displacement. The rotary tool module inside the turret uses a cooling system to maintain processing quality during prolonged operation. Additionally, the C1’s independent orthogonal structure of X, Y and Z axes is said to reduce feed error for high rigidity and precision.
The machine holds as many as 36 tools and is engineered with a triple-stack turret with a toolchanger. According to the company, this selection of tools promotes the precise machining of complex parts with reduced setups and enables multiple jobs to be tooled up, making the turning center suitable for short-run jobs. Available options include an automatic tool presetter and a second spindle.
