Dan Porter, Director of Service, has been serving the machine tool industry for over 24 years. He’s built his career on the foundation of honesty and integrity. He considers himself a fixer and problem solver and began his career in the service industry, based on the recommendations from an Advisor at WCTC.
His favorite part of his career is picking up his tools after a machine is running. Dan believes in customer service and the importance of advising and providing solutions that are most impactful for the customer, not most profitable for his company. He’s established and built lifelong relationships and generally enjoys helping people. His customers can expect Dan to install and fix machines correctly and in a timely manner. He is extremely organized and constantly maintains a line of communication with the customer so they are fully aware of the installation or repair status.
One of Dan’s most memorable repairs was when a service tech pinched some wires in a cover, which caused the machine to short-out as well as fire-off many small mechanical features. After replacing many parts and reinstalling new wires, the job was finally finished at 3am so production for the customer could continue a few hours later.
As Director of Service, his goal at Premier Machine tool is to expand the service department and mentor young techs who enter this industry.
When Dan is not working, he likes to play around in his home machine / electronics shop. When seen with a clean shirt on, he enjoys playing euchre.
